About
Our Story
Family-Owned since 1964
The story of how Southeast Texas Building Services, Inc. came into existence all starts with one man’s tenacity, persistence and hard work. This man was Robert Leslie Bodin, Sr. (1937 to 2021).
Bob didn’t come from a well-to-do background. He didn’t have a college education. He was the common working man just trying to make it paycheck to paycheck like most people. Bob worked for the City of Port Arthur at the sewer plant during the daytime. And in the evenings and on weekends, him and his wife, Joyce, would clean various buildings for extra income. They knew first-hand the hard work it takes to clean and scrub and haul trash.
Bob was very involved in his community and worked with the beautification of the City of Port Arthur. He began to make connections and soon took notice of the amount of work opportunities in the janitorial sect. By his calculations, it appeared to have the potential to become a successful business and source of income for his growing family. This is when he decided to take a leap of faith and start his own company.
He started off as Jiffy Window Cleaning in 1964. The business grew over the years and in 1990, Bob decided to expand into a full-service janitorial company serving commercial businesses throughout southeast Texas. The business is known as Southeast Texas Building Services, Inc. His son, Robert L. Bodin, Jr., joined his father in the company right out of high school. Bob taught and trained him to step into his shoes one day. The company flourished and his hard work had paid off. He has built a successful business from the ground up with his own blood, sweat and tears.
Shortly after Bob became ill, Joyce stepped into the role as President of the company. Today, both Joyce and Robert oversee the company. We continue to strive to honor Bob’s legacy by providing excellence of service to our current and future customers. We appreciate any opportunity given to serve you!
